Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

5.0

I love Harry Potter and i love the illustrated editions of it!

They are so unbelievable beautiful!
And in a way they really give a whole new experience and layer to the books that kind of make them new again.

I just...

I really enjoy how this book starts to mature a bit, get darker and creepier (which by the way if you don't like spiders? This book soooo going to give you really nice dream images! Just sayin'!)

I know that this book is for many people their least favourite one, but i always really enjoyed this book.

It really builds this clear baseline, it has the first horcux, it has a real introduction to Voldemort, it gives the information that Harry has a piece of Voldemort in him.
It also gives us all a better view in how the wizarding world functions - explaining the blood views as well as how Arthur is punished and how Malfoy is able to push some things through and is governor of the school....
Also DOBBY!
Which i always loved and i loved seeing him drawn the way Jim Kay did it!

And sure i completely see why so many people have so many problems with this book. There are many things that are a bit strange in this book.
I always -this time as well- ask myself how the heck an entire school can just not take end of the year exams! I mean come on!
There are fifth and seven years going to Hogwarts as well at the same time! They HAVE to take their exams or they don't get their qualifications! So how can the entire school just be freed from exams?

Also Ginny... how an entire family as large as the Weaselys can not notice that a member of their family is acting that strange and not notice what is happening? Don't get it!

And Lockhart!

How non of the other professors at least tried to put a stopper on him, i never ever understand!
But at the same time...
Kudos to Rowling for being able to write characters that are horrendously horrible that we all kind of hate even more then Voldemort without making them all the actual bad guy of the story! There is a specific kind of power behind being able to write that way!

still i love this book!

Its awesome!

Also if you have not yet picked up the illustrated edition of this book?
Do it!
Right now!

What are you waiting for?
