Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

5.0

Second time reading:
Since I knew somewhat what I was getting into with this one, it was much easier to read. And my god how I cried towards the end. Nothing short of a masterpiece in my opinion, I can't wait to reread this again in a couple of years.

First time reading:
This was brilliant! I loved Gideon the Ninth with all my heart, and I was so excited to continue on with the series with Harrow, but I have to admit it was a bit difficult to get into it. The sci-fi felt heavier in this one, and it still isn't my favourite genre, so that put me off a little. But once I got properly into it, Harrow proved to be another masterful story! I loved how the book was written largely in second person perspective. I also loved the way it all came somewhat together at the end, it was nice to get some answers at least. Reading Muir is proving to be a lesson in turning off that part of the brain that tries to understand the story, but luckily that it also something I actually enjoy in books. Being clueless makes it all the more fun to start understanding it towards the end! Can't wait for the third book in the series now!! Also, I cried because of this one too.
