Outside Mullingar (Tcg Edition) by John Patrick Shanley

This play took me like two hours to read because I couldn't help but read the entire thing in an Irish accent. Not because it's written in dialect, but because it's so utterly Irish that the words, the pacing, the themes, the sentiments don't even make sense under any other conditions. I thought this got that culture down to a T and it was such a sweet and pure story. Look I literally can't lie, you lost me at the end. Maybe the glibness of it was the point, but I could have done with 5 more pages along the way building up to that ending because bestie WHAT??? It practically became a farce on the last three pages. But the development of relationships was pretty good and all the characters were just precious; I loved them all.
