I read the 2nd and 3rd books in this series because we read the first for a book club, and I purchased all three in a bundle. They are quick reads, and a decent choice for those looking to try a police procedural novel. They feature women though at some moments it is clear they were written by men. I didn't mind them, though they are not my favorite series overall.

In this book one of the four major characters meets her demise and tragically, for me reading this series anyway, she is my favorite. I will likely not be reading any more of the series but it is more because of the fact that I have way too many books on my to-read list rather than because I wouldn't enjoy it.

The cases are explosive but the love interests haven't been believable for me.
