The Selfless Act of Breathing by J.J. Bola

5.0

I had no idea what this book was about when I started it, and I definitely did not think it would touch me in the way that it did. This book was relatable in so many ways it was like looking into a mirror at times. Yes, maybe this novel is a bit depressing and I can understand why some people may not have loved it as I did, but I counter that it is just immensely REAL. Yes, it can be uncomfortable at times, but the uncomfortable conversations are the ones we need to be having. So many things in this story resonated with me and the writing was truly beautiful. I was blown away by this book that I randomly grabbed at the bookstore. It is 10000% worth the read.

***it can be a bit dark at times, so if you are not ready for something like that, I would maybe hold off on reading it***
