Alena's Revenge by K.A. Knight

5.0

4.6 stars.
Damn.
That was shorter than I expected, and also bloodier than I expected.
I really enjoyed all the darkness in this book.

If you read Den of Vipers, you’ll know that was dark in its own way. But this tops that by about a million.
Check Trigger Warning for sure.
Torture, rape, murder, mutilation, it all happens on page.

This is not for the faint of heart. It’s dark and practically drips blood from its pages.

But I really enjoyed Alena’s fire. Her drive for revenge. Her complete and utter savagery.
And Idris was there along the way to guide, contain, and reign over his Bitch.

Its completely fucked. Way more than Den of Vipers ever was.
But it was also hot as all hell in my messed up head.

It’s not anywhere remotely sweet. But it’s also sort of romantic in its own fucked up way at times.

This is no romance where the assassin cracks under the damsel’s presence, changing his ways and falling instantly in love with her.

This was an assassin who had run from his ways and Alena is in the right place at the right time to bolster him back up and push him back in.
He fights it a bit, but Alena’s fire and shadows reel him in and continually surprise him with their destruction.
By the end they’re working together pretty smoothly. The darkness inside each of them colliding and twining together irrevocably.
It’s sort of beautiful despite how fucked up it is.

I absolutely loved this. And I thought the ending was totally perfect and fitting.

I know I skipped the two books that are connected to this one and happened before this but I’m not sure I give a fuck about the other women. After Alena I don’t think they’d stack up.

But we’ll see. Maybe I’ll end digging into those books too.
