The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
3.0
I HATE ALL THESE CHARACTERS
Stella: she started as a stereotype, then I started to like her and find her relatable, but by the end she was sooooo frustrating because she was so convinced that Michael didn't like her and she was literally going to quit her job over the situation. Both she and Michael should have just TALKED to each other and then they would've easily realized they were in love and they didn't have to invent stupid reasons that they couldn't end up together
Michael: I hate him the most. He was pushy with Stella. And I hated his POV chapters because he was so lusty and jealous and literally had violent tendencies. Cringeeeeeeeeee
Philip: this guy was so unrealistic. Would've appreciated his psycho behavior to be a lot more subtle. I couldn't take him seriously. The end of the book was so over the top, and we never even got an explanation as to why Philip acts so inappropriately???
Kinda disappointed that the book ended up being this annoying because I really did enjoy the beginning and found Stella and Michael's dynamic to be fresh and compelling. But the book just got more and more absurd and increasingly infuriating with each chapter and I couldn't stop rolling my eyes.
It was written fine enough though, so I might (?) try the author's other books if I think I can stomach all the cringey smut that's probably in them (this book had much cringey smut)
