first five star read of the year! A wonderful, magnificent, beautifully written and constructed story about humanity and art. I enjoyed the alternating timelines and loved the ending. I really can't put adequate words down that convey how I feel about this novel, but I can say that I'm so glad I have two of Mandel's other novels because I have a hunch that she's one of my new favorites.
