Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

This series is so underhyped! A lot of people read it in the early days of YA, but I haven't heard about it in ages and it should be spoken about so much more! Seriously one of the better dystopian books coming out during that times, definitely better than Divergent, maybe up to The Hunger Games.
Besides the characters it actually also has an fantastic plot. I really enjoy how it's developing. The books are so action-packed and fast paced. So much is happening and I couldn't see things coming at all. I constantly felt like 'shittt, that really happened? What now!?'. I am so so so excited to figure out what the author planned for the last book. There is so much to that has to happen for things to turn out alright, but after reading the first two I completely trust her to stick the landing!

This book really solidified my love for the characters. Aria is such a good example of a well written YA female. She acts her age, but still gets shit done. Authors really could take an example from how well she is written. I also really, really liked Roar and the friendship between him and Aria in this book. I actually think most of the characters in the book are written suprisingly well. The Six were great, loved their hilarious banter. Cinder started to grow on me and I'm so curious what will happen with him in the next book. The unlikely allegiance with Soren was so unexpected, but really good. Even the villains are great. You love to hate them, but they aren't becoming a caricature like tends to happen with villains in YA.Besides the characters it actually also has an fantastic plot.
