Payback's a Witch by Lana Harper
3.0
I should have dnf'd this if I'm being honest. it took me three days to read this and I churn out 300 page romances within an afternoon.
i LOVE competition stories but I just did not care for this one. the actual competition maybe took up 45 pages total, so definitely don't read it for that aspect. but even when we were actually within one of the challenges I found myself skimming.
I think the main thing that kept me going was playing y/n with Emmy because I have a big fat crush on Talia. aka please date me Talia.
the third act conflict was so dumb because how were they both wrong? it was just based on both of them being too stubborn and just plain wrong, and while obviously that got resolved and they realized that in the end, it just made for an even worse reading experience and it already took everything in my power not to dnf with 90 pages left
