The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon

5.0

I went into this without knowing what it was about and had I not I probably wouldn’t have read it, to be honest. It’s not my usual type of book. I’d put it on my library holds back in January… assuming someone recommended it then, and when it became available I jumped in feet first. I am so glad I did! I enjoyed the flow of this story, the journal entries, the look back into the 1700s. Parts of it were rough (rape mentioned and on the page, a murder, loss of a child) but I was hooked from start to finish.
