Your Fathers, Where Are They? and the Prophets, Do They Live Forever? by Dave Eggers
5.0
Incredible. This book, along with A Hologram for the King, does such an amazing job of illustrating/capturing the angst and frustration that come from living in America and trying to "do the right things" while any sense of meritocracy and/or fairness are shat on by those with actual power. If you are American, you owe it to yourself to read it and reflect on how much of yourself and your "inner demons" you see in the main character. And, like all other Eggers books, apparently I have to apologize for liking it and not minding that a white male wrote an angsty, somewhat self-indulgent book...
