Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi
5.0
Iranian Girlhood Tale!
This is so touching, overwhelming and cool and yet so simply and lucidly described. The journey starts with the will to become a prophet, communism and further takes forms of self-discoveries and rebellion. It has peaks of tear-jerking and even wildly-funny. The sequential art is just so cute. The book revolves around frowns and chuckles with a lingering train of thought around some serious coming-of-age phases that tends to make her so precocious and outspoken. So harrowing and so beautiful.
I've even started reading the sequel.
