Hmmm...I have thoughts on this book...
Wow, this book had been on my TBR list for a while, mainly because it's a modern classic, but also because I've heard the story is absolutely essential. This work was a powerful telling story about friendship, love, hope, finding one's place in the world, and understanding how one navigates themself in the world. The writing is extremely well done and the author has a powerful way of storytelling that captures your attention.
I will say, I do have a couple qualms... I think the biggest issue for me is the length. Towards the end, I was wondering where the story would end and why things hadn't concluded earlier, especially considering the ending of the story. Also, thinking back there were a number of scenes or moments that I thought could have been edited out for the sake of focusing on the main storylines. That said, I appreciate the author's ability to weave a fantastic story and characters that engage with each other well.
Overall, this book was a great read and I recommend anyone read this, if only to have read one of the great modern classics of our time.
