Earth's Daughter by Eve Langlais
Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.
The politics about homelessness and gentrification were not bad per se but they left a bad taste in my mouth.
The writing was not bad.
I did not like how tough (?) Annie was, the best friend, and the romantic attraction was straight up bad. He was a handsome and mysterious warrior, they had two interactions bit they were soooo attracted to each other? Yes but no.
It is a short work but they should have interacted more before almost doing it at 50% (I have no problem with sex, I like for it to be even in the first chapter but it came out of nowhere). And him saying: come after 30 seconds of rubbing her cl*t? And her obliging? You both wish.
A bit too quick, written without much soul from the writer (my impression) but still a decent read. I wouldn't personally recommend it. (it read as a 2010 book, but it was published ten years later)
