Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell

1.0

started off well but i hated it by the end. there were so many issues - how horrible the mother was, how she treated some man's kids better than her own, how she kept shaming and comparing her only daughter (doesn't matter if she forgives her bc i don't and it was horrendous to read), how self absorbed and selfish she was, how the povs kept changing, how i realized what was happening 40% in, how we found out every detail of the kidnapping 60% in from the kidnapper explaining it to us like we're stupid, how poppy was a ridiculously unrealistic 9yo, the filler chapters, no big twist or suspense at the end (trying to make him seem redeemable was crazy and also him giving her away is SO out of character). both epilogues also unnecessary
