Read for a book club. Not my normal type of book so that definitely colors my review, but man, for a horror book this was pretty boring. I would have liked to have a little more substance to the lore, this felt too focused on the creating spooky vibes at the expense of world-building. And maybe that's the point, but my utter lack of a single f*** for the survival of any of the characters meant they couldn't keep me hooked either.
