Moonshot: Inside Pfizer's Nine-Month Race to Make the Impossible Possible by Albert Bourla
2.0
First in my series of reads about the making of the COVID-19 vaccine. One key theme is the relationship between infusion of money and speed of development in being able to pursue parallel approaches to vaccine development, and the importance of an early start. Otherwise, much of the book reads as an extended PR ode to Pfizer - a more nuanced approach examining the importance of foundational work to make a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine possible has to be found elsewhere.
