This was an amazing, yet sad read. I first saw this story in Aoi Bungaku a few years ago and it made a really strong impression on me. Recently found out Junji Ito made a manga based on it, so in order to read it, I decided to read the original first. Really liked the book, but be prepared, there is nothing uplifting in it.
