All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

5.0

"The National Book Award and NYT Book Review stickers on the front should’ve been a dead giveaway that this one would be revolutionary. I am so glad I waited in line at Rome’s little public library to get my hands on a copy of this. Doerr does an incredible job painting this world. I’m a sucker for historical fiction set around the World Wars and this absolutely did not disappoint. One of the best novels I’ve read recently."

--my review from 2015 still holds up. This is arguably one of my favorite books of all time (and just as good on audio)! Since then, this little masterpiece has also won a Pulitzer, if you needed more convincing.
