Problem Seeking: An Architectural Programming Primer by William M. Peña

5.0

While the book is primarily written for architects, the described framework that is used to capture client needs and define the project problem could easily be applied to a wide range of projects, such as software development. I can see why the book is considered a classic guide after five decades in print, with regular revisions still being published. I loved the simple graphics that are used to illustrate key concepts, and the Problem Seeking framework encourages the entire project team to think about the less obvious aspects of a project before jumping to shiny solutions. It's a great reference book for project managers to keep close by, both for perspective and inspiration, and certainly worth getting in paperback.
