I wanted so much to love this book because I have read nearly all of Marissa Meyer's books and have loved all of them, except this book. I think she is an incredible author and writes fantastic fantasy books and amazing re-tellings but this book just didn't hit the mark, unfortunately.

Look, I understand that I'm supposed to not like Pru at the start but it was so hard to get past her pretty insufferable personality and even towards the end of the book I still didn't like her and generally didn't care about her or her love story with Quint.

Talking about Quint, this boy didn't get enough characterisation or personality but if he was the main character I probably would have liked the book better.

Although I didn't like this book, Marissa Meyer is by far my favourite YA author and she definitely deserves more hype.
