I’ve been trying to read this book since it was released, which should tell you everything you need to know. I honestly would have DNF this book had I not already been a fan of the authors Instagram account. The pace was so slow, and while I loved the plots concepts, the execution just didn’t sit well with me. I started this book as an e-book, but I left it for months before I decided to finish it off by listening to it on audiobook at almost 3 times speed, I really just wanted it to be over honestly and I feel like there was a lot of random conversations between people in the book that just didn’t mesh well and felt a little random. The main character while I was happy to see a fat mixture racist lead she was infuriating cliché with her “Independent Woman - I don’t need no mans” mentality at the end.
