I really wanted to like this more. I have heard incredible things about this series, but I won’t be continuing. I think the overall tone was too...idk gross? Too gory, too bawdy, too graphic, too much toxic masculinity. I read plenty of other dark dystopian fantasies with violence and war, but this was just dark in a way that doesn’t appeal to me. Like if the Hunger Games were edited with a MMC, more violence, and a lot more talk of d!cks and sh!t. I love that some folks are way into this, but it ain’t my cup of tea.
