This book had such a haunting ending in a way I did not expect! I love a spooky story about a haunted house, perfect to read right before Halloween! And wow, the way the author wrote in such detail about the ins and outs of each character was beautiful. Wonderful weavings of social commentary on race, gender, social class, and familial relationships. It was a very dark and emotional read. Truly was surprised by the ending.
