Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken

First I want to thank Erin from Reading With Wrin for buddy reading this with me. You all know how much I love buddy reading and I had so much fun talking to Erin everyday for a week while we were reading this. I'm sure I got on her nerves a little always talking about the romance but I just couldn't help it. We both loved this book so much that we are planning to buddy read In The Afterlife next week.

Ok where do I even begin with this review? I freaking loved it. It definitely does not suffer from the dreaded second book syndrome in my opinion and it was so much better than the first book even though I really enjoyed that one as well.

It had a little bit of a slow start but things picked up around chapter 4 or 5 and from then on it was action packed. There was so much happening. It was like as soon as something good happened something bad was bound to happen. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time we were reading it.

In my review for the first book I said Ruby was the one who had the most character growth and I still stand by that but there were some instances where she was making some very stupid decisions even though she knew better which was annoying.

I will say there are a few characters who grew on me in this book but I still have so many questions concerning them. Basically I would like a little more backstory on why they act the way they do or do the things they do.

Erin and I were reading 4 chapters each day and then talking about our thoughts on that section as soon as we were both finished and it quickly got hard to make myself stop reading after the allotted chapters because the last chapter we read would end on a cliffhanger and I would want so badly to know what was going to happen next.

I can't really say to much about the romance because it will spoil other aspects of the book so I will just say awww.

The last thing I am going to mention is that ending. A couple things happened at the end. The first thing I didn't see coming but after it happened I immediately knew why it happened and how it came to be. The second thing that happened I never saw coming and it broke me. Just sitting here writing about it now is breaking my heart all over again.

Overall I definitely recommend this book but you should definitely read the first book before starting this one.
