This is a fantastic, historical fiction, YA, queer romance set in Chinatown, SanFrancisco of the '50s. I really enjoyed it. My only quibbles would be that I was less into the chapters told from the mother and aunt's point of view, and that Lily is not a fully developed character. But overall, it just works for me, that rare, relatively happy historical lesbian romance. It's really well researched and although categorized as young adult, deserves an adult audience also.
