Love Letters From a Duke by Elizabeth Boyle

lighthearted medium-paced

4.25

What a charming story of mistaken identify. I’m definitely partial to an historical romance and this was just an enjoyable story. Like how the story unfolded and the eventual reveal occurre between Felicity and her Duke.

This book is part of a series, but I am yet to read the earlier books. There were a couple of things I think would have made more sense if I had read those. But didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

| Synopsis |
Felicity has been left penny less until she marries. However, she has a plan to travel to London for the season all in the hopes of making her engagement to the Duke official. After years of corespondents she is unaware that she was actually writing with the Dukes late grandfather. When he arrives at her door to put an end to the match, he gets mistaken for a footmen. And becomes intrigued but the shrewd Felicity.

Feliciry also has a side project titled the Bachelor Chronicles which is similar in tone to Lady Whistledown but she acts more as a matchmaker.

“I am Holindrake. I am Hollindrake. He practiced…Still unwilling to make the loud and lofty public statement  leave his free wheeling life as Thatcher” - the Duke
Sweet that her presence alone means he is required to practice revealing himself to be the Duke.
