The Pale Horseman by Bernard Cornwell

3.0

Did you like the first one? This one almost feels like a "pixies in the forest episode" or perhaps just set up for future arcs than it was a real interesting story. It's a totally passable second entry into the series and I'm still excited to keep going. The prose, characters and military details are just as good here as they were in the first one, but I did feel the story waxxed a bit past what I expect out of Cornwell at this, my fifth novel by this author.
