Tim Winton writes so well. I thought initially this was a "kids" book, but it really isn't. It should have taken me an afternoon to finish this little thing off, but I keep getting distracted and losing momentum. It's a strange, sad little story with a bunch of well-drawn yet weird characters. Even so, I don't think I like them much.
