This was such a deliciously dark, sinister and vividly gory book. I love folk stories about Plague (Kuma Kuga in Croatian folk) so this is definitely my type of book. Especially since this is not a historical story like the Goodreads shelves would make you think, but actually a modern version of the tale. It also hits a bit differently when you read it during a pandemic.
The characters are also interesting in the way that they know what's happening, but are still mostly inefectual to actually do something. It also reminded me a bit of Jaws, except instead of shark, there's a creepy reveng seeking ghost girl.
I was also mostly rooting for the creepy ghost girl, because I'm like that.
