A very powerful memoir about a brave 16-year old girl who started a movement accidentally by fighting for her people’s rights. It always amazes me to read about young people doing amazing things so early in their lives and what I enjoyed about Ahed’s memoir is that she not only educated readers about the Israel-Palestine-(and who are we kidding, the United States and Britain too ) conflict, she does so in a way that highlights how strong and resilient and pure-hearted the Palestinian people are in spite of it. I learned a lot and have a newfound respect and admiration for Palestinian people. And it gives hope to other oppressed groups around the world . The recurring theme is, an oppressor can never dim your light.
