I loved Confessions of a forty-something f##k up so I was thrilled when I found out there would be a sequel! There are not many characters that would have me picking up a 500-page book as soon as it arrived but Nell and Cricket are wonderful. I could have carried on reading and would welcome more books for each decade of Nell's life!
This picks up 12 months (and a pandemic) after the first book and you are straight back into the action with the same cast of characters. I was hesitant to pick up the first book as I thought I wouldn't be able to relate, as I am about 20 years younger than Nell but I couldn't have been more wrong and that was further emphasised in this book - it's full of all the important life decisions were faced with in society and it is written in a way that uplifts the reader - it felt like talking to a friend! I cannot recommend this enough!
