feel like i survived a traumatic event, but it was really just trying to finish this book. classic case of boring meatbags getting picked off by an art the clown ripoff for (varying) reasons at a house party. any interesting subversion of horror tropes that this book could have done was completely washed due to the fact that this book is just plain stupid! it can’t decide whether or not it wants it’s villain to be mortal or whatever-the-hell-art-is so they decided to be greedy and try and combine the two. not now this works! noelle was also just a sucky “final girl” (that label is used pretty gratuitously throughout the book) to the point where i was half convinced she was the killer; she spent more time running from room to room of HER OWN HOUSE like a chicken with its head cut off rather than actually trying to do shit that didn’t get her friends killed. double it and give it to the next person please.
