The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar

4.0

Wow is the synopsis for this book super vague.

Skye is our heroine, Damian is the “villain”. I hated the pronunciation of his name.

This book had a lot of time jumps to show the childhood relationship between Skye and Damian, and I didn’t LOVE them, but I didn’t hate them.

I didn’t realize Skye’s captor was Damian kind of right until she did, but UGH I hated when he dropped her off on the island so she wouldn’t go down with him when he was inevitably captured, and that she got on a boat with some couple and got a ride back out to him.

Definitely could have called that the random girl he starts talking to when he moves back into the old, abandoned mansion was HIS daughter. Duh.

I really loved the ending, though. The happily ever after when both characters have really developed as individuals felt honest.
