This book fit right within my tastes. I had so much fun, and the themes and imagery were right up my alley. Something that I noticed while reading, and really added to the atmosphere of the story, was how much focus was on the sensation of smell; every different location, person, scene had a lavish description of it. But also:
A beautiful (depiction of) sisterhood! Mystery! Magical realism! Supernatural body changes! Witchcraft/divination! LGBTQ representation! Fantastical Horror! Mythology! Family! Betrayal, supernatural abilities!
