Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield

3.0

3,5 stars - the writing was beautiful but didn't entirely work for me. Might just be a me thing, though - I've been reading a lot of dense classical literature and might just be used to language of that caliber. I didn't mind the distance between the narrators, though I wish we could have caught more glimpses of what their relationship was like before Leah went underwater. Nonetheless: the Annihilation comparisons are definitely warranted, though my issue with said book pops up here as well. It should have been weirder and more unsettling!
