Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
5.0
Wow. It´s been a long time since I´ve enjoyed reading a book this much. The world and the characters are extremely interesting and the plot action packed and suspenseful, full of twists and turns making it very hard to stop reading. Thanks to the humor, references to 80s pop culture and fluent writing the reading experience felt fun, which is a word that describes the whole book quite well. But Ready Player One definitely has some deeper undertones as well and made me think about the world we live in and the future we´ll have to face, just as a good dystopian story should.
That is why I can say that Ready Player One is a prime example of a book that deserves all the hype it is getting, it should even get some more.
Also, if you decide to read Ready Player One (and you really should) I recommend that you listen to a playlist Cline himself has made on Spotify carrying the same name as the book. As you might have guessed, it´s full of 80s music.
