I don't if it cause have heard so much about how weird and brilliant this story was but I just found the whole thing meh. I found it formulaic and preditable and it doesn't really say much of anything. Awad's writing is strong and the pacing was perfect. The characters were all fun and engaing if a little lackluster. I will definitely check out her other work as I liked her writing and her ideas, I just found that tgey fell a little flat here.
