Sadly enough The Temple of Fortuna (as did The House with the Golden Door) falls short beside The Wolf Den which was such a stunning novel. I enjoyed the finale more than I did the second book and it is still an easy read, with a good grasp on historical events (which always makes it more interesting). I, sadly, kind of lost the connection I had built with Amara when she left the Lupanar. One thing I do love is the female friendships and how they are depicted, loss is most felt when they are concerned which I think is a great stylistic choice considering the story!
