No Bad Days by J. Sterling

3.0

45 percent of this book was 1 star. 45 percent was 3 stars. 10 percent of it was 5 stars. I'm going to give it three stars since it actually had five star moments which made me feel like I hadn't wasted my time listening to this story.

I almost gave up on this book many times because there's just no story in the first half. The characters are not interesting, the dialogue is boring and there's no storyline. I actually stopped and read the reviews for this book three times while I was listening to it. I couldn't understand the positive reviews. The writing itself isn't bad; the content is just not interesting.

Spoilers:
I almost stopped listening after an attempt to insert drama was made and it was so ridiculous and immature, I almost gave up hope for the rest of the book. The hero calls a radio station and says something on the air that the heroine hears. She gets upset and they have a public encounter about it after the fact. I'm just going to say that the reasoning the hero gave for his stunt is ridiculous, not attractive and does this book a disservice. And the fact he determined what he did was "worth it" was appalling. He should have been ashamed for being so immature and so willing to embarrass his girlfriend.

The last 25 - 40% of the book picked up in action, with some five-star moments sprinkled in. If you decide to give this book a whirl, if you find yourself getting bored, I recommend skipping ahead a little bit at a time until you hear something that piques your interest. You won't miss anything important.
