I first read this book within 16 hours, fitting it in during work and staying up til 3am to finish. I absolutely adored it, and it became my new favorite book.
Then I read the next few in the series, and I realized I’d missed a lot from Gideon. I still loved the series, but I knew I needed a re-read.
This time around I annotated as I went, and took my time. Stretched it out to three days!
I love it even more. Especially knowing what’s coming. This books gets infinitely better on a re-read, which is such a rare quality. Muir is one of those rare authors who truly knew exactly what she was doing from the very first sentence of the series, and intended every book to rely on the others.
