carmen maria machado attempts to name a nameless violence, the one that takes place in a domestic setting within a sapphic relationship. incredibly informative, emotional and important. themes such as gender presentation and how that affects victimhood are explored. the psychological toll of a relationship of this kind as well as the aftermath. machado also highlights how psychological violence is, to the law's eyes, erasable. 
very hard read but so enlightening and necessary. she names many many books that i will use to educate myself further on this issue.
