Past Tense by Lee Child

5.0

First read: I don't know why, but I feel like I've been unable to enjoy a lot of the recent instalments of this series *sigh*. I hate not liking a Reacher novel but, like The Midnight Line, Past Tense centred on Reacher making his way to a planned destination only to see a road sign (or in the case of The Midnight Line, a ring in a shop window) and divert. I miss the tight plotlines of the earlier books.

Reread: I take back everything I said in the original review. This is now among my favourites. I loved how it actually felt like Reacher really did organically stumble upon the secondary characters, whilst on his own journey to find out about his father's past. So many Reachers in one book.
