Goddess: A Starcrossed Novel by Josephine Angelini
5.0
So I basically marathon read Dreamless and Goddess today.
Dreamless was almost spoiled for me by the love triangle the author created. Although, Orion was a saving grace. I still love him and the sassy way he handles things, but I am so glad this triangle stuff was resolved early on in the finale.
This book was basically the perfect end to the trilogy. There wasn't a single moment where I was bored, nor was I wishing the book moved faster. The twists and turns were the perfect reminiscent of a Greek Tragedy Drama and I loved the flashbacks Helen had of her previous lives. The way Helen has grown through with the books is absolutely wonderful and I am glad that instead of whining she chose to be angry enough to fight back.
The ending was absolutely perfect. I loved the fact the author basically pointed out there is no happy ending per say, but that the Scions have grown strong enough to deal with Gods, if they must. Realistically done, and the actual reason why I gave this book a 5 stars, despite the fact that the lie of Helen and Lucas being cousins was so transparent that any one of them should have realised it at the starting of Dreamless but I am pragmatic enough to realise that this a Greek Tragedy story and thus this lie was the basis of most of the story.
Still a definite re-read in my opinion :)
