At first, I didnt like the mentality of Tally, but it just made it so much better when she came to realise what was happening. I thought the concept of Uglies and Pretties was a bit silly but then we find out that there is a sense as to why and how things have come to what they are and the whole feel of the idea becomes more serious. As a first book in a series, it was really good and I couldn't wait for the second.
