Dumbledore: The Life and Lies of Hogwart's Renowned Headmaster: An Unofficial Exploration by Irvin Khaytman

4.0

I went into this book with a very sure-footed opinion of Dumbledore and Machiavellian didn’t even cover it. I hated him. I thought he used every single person in his life as a pawn and had no care or affection for any of them but was very, very good at making a person believe he cared for them (ie Harry.) While I can’t say I’ve done a total 180, this book gave me A LOT to consider and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read it in a single sitting and am leaving with a brand new lens to consider my all time favorite series through, 17 years after I finished reading it the first time.
