Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
5.0
Amazing! I'm a huge fan of the movies, but besides the general plot, the book managed to be different enough to keep me engrossed. I particularly appreciated the added depth and nuance to the characters (Hammond and Dr. Wu specifically are have striking differences with their movie counterparts, as do the children, though the latter were still annoying). I also loved learning more about genetics and cloning, though the discussion is obviously a bit outdated, as well as the explication of chaos theory, all combined with musings on corporate ambition and human moral dilemmas.
