This is really awesome, but if the plot comes from Gibson’s screenplay pass I can see exactly why it didn’t become Alien 3. It wouldn’t have worked for character reasons, and likely for special effects reasons. But those things are kind of why I loved this!

The action sequences are really stellar, the new characters are really likeable, the political intrigue of the early chapters is really great, and when the aliens show up, they SHOW up.

Hell yeah.
