Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake

4.0

Second chance romance has become one of my favorite tropes and it’s never a trope I’m drawn to but each time a romance has it I kind of fall in love. The angst, miscommunication done well, the couple pretending like they’re unaffected, and how no matter how hard they try they can’t help but falling in love all over again. It’s just pure excellence. Charlotte and Brighton were literally a mess but a fun one. Charlotte’s avoidance mixed in with Brighton’s guilt due to calling off the wedding was a recipe for disaster. I loved how we got to chip through Charlotte’s cold exterior and how she opened herself up not only to Brighton, but to her friends that she kept at a distance. This was way better than I expected and as soon as I realized what plot Ashley Herring Blake was setting up I was hooked.
